The Question – How early is too early to start business exit planning?

exit_planning_rWith an excess of baby boomers looking to exit their businesses in the next 10 – 15 years, what plans must you put in place to help maximise your business value. The presentation will look at the issues business owners will face if they are planning to sell their business over the next 10 – 15 years and discuss what actions you can undertake to maximise your value.

Following a successful education in IT sales, our speaker, Colin McLAughlin of Mount Parnassus Partners Ltd has held sales & marketing and commercial director roles in major PLCs as well as smaller family owned enterprises in IT, Telecoms and Finance industries. Including Telewest Business Services, ISA International and Ramsdens Financial Services.

At Telewest (now Virgin Media), he oversaw the launch of broadband internet services bundled with software via a JV with Microsoft. Today this would be known as cloud computing, back then it was simply ground breaking hosted applications. Sustainable growth has played a huge part in the business strategies he has implemented which are recognised by the qualification of two separate business for the prestigious Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and one in the much sought after Profit Track 100.

‘In the Air Tonight’ : Air Quality Problems and Solutions

Date:   Wednesday 13th February 2013
Venue:  Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, 15 South College Street, EH8 9AA
Time:   18:00 registration for 18:30 start. Finish by 20:30

Air quality is a topic which is not often in the headlines. It has been called the ‘silent killer’ that may be responsible for up to 29,000 premature deaths in the UK each year. Although steps are being taken to improve air quality, progress is slow and the number of air quality management areas in Scotland is expected to increase over the near future.

This session will provide an outline of air quality issues in Scotland, and then we will hear about transport related initiatives that are starting to address and improve air quality in Scottish cities.   For more information and to reserve your place please contact:

ü  Network with young, local business people and hear how they can help you.

ü  Refreshments will be on offer by the Prince’s Trust TEAM Programme, with donations welcomed to support work encouraging young people in community projects.
